Love is in the Air

You might remember the song “Love is in the Air” by John Paul Young, a disco song that made its way into the Australian romantic comedy “Strictly Ballroom” or, if you’re like 99% of people on earth, you might not. In either case, it is an uplifting song, which means to me that it is consistent with the spirit of love.

Love is neither person, place nor thing. It is an invisible, omnipresent spirit which takes form in innumerable ways. It is the power from which all other power manifests. Like a mighty sun (which incidentally is one form of love), it intensifies all that it touches.

The power that love is is the one power. The power of love can be misused, abused, and twisted. When love is distorted, evil results. Evil does not have its own power, it exists only to the degree that it is capable of usurping the power of love. That is why struggling with evil is so foolish and why the statement “resist not evil” is so incredibly powerful. Evil is nothing in and of itself. Evil is a vampiric because it has no life of its own.

There are two types of love: radiant and responsive. Your love for God is responsive love. Your responsive love opens the channels for your radiant love, that is, blessing. When you are in a true friendship, both radiant and responsive love are at play. Unrequited love is radiant love that is not met, matched or opposed by responsive love.

Radiance is the evidence of the presence of love. Radiance transmutes into blessing when radiant love converges with responsive love. Blessing is the afterglow of love’s fusion.

No matter how horrible things are in your life in particular on earth in general, love is always in the air. It is prima materia. When you’re low, focus your responsive love in relation to the source of love. Look upward, then serve outward. This is the secret formula for an endlessly generative life…no matter how restrictive or uncomfortable your immediate circumstances may be at any give point in time.

The Meaning of Love – By Rumi
Both light and shadow are the dance of Love. Love has no cause, it is the astrolabe of God’s secrets. Lover and Loving are inseparable and timeless. Although I may try to describe Love when I experience it, I am speechless. Although I amy try to write about Love, I am rendered helpless, my pen breaks, and the paper slips away at the ineffable place where Lover, Loving and Loved are one. Every moment is made glorious by the light of Love.

Thank you for an incredible description of the way love works. This post holds keys for most of the mysteries of life that people have struggled with for ages.

The radiance/response relationship really makes how love works understandable. Love is not some foreign thing that we have to either lie about or be concerned with finding, it is available in each of us at every moment. We have only to align ourselves with love in our hearts, minds, spirits, and daily functions. In this way we never need worry that we will be without love, as we become the source in the world that we are the center of.

Thank you for that clear and concise description of love. It is as uncomplicated as it is precise in its ability to transform any circumstance or life. As I’ve come to understand love my trust and faith in it has become the salve, comfort and protection that, given the waywardness of human kind, has been my rock solid anchoring. Evil is evident on Earth but it’s parasitic existence makes it dependent on our ignorance of how love works. How quickly the tables are turned when we are more concerned with being an tuning fork for the ever present reverberation of love. Thanks Gregg.

This is probably THE most important thing to understand about living a meaningful life. With love comes peace, stability, puissance and purpose. Without it is desolation, insecurity, fear and greed. The ironic thing is that it is entirely up to us. We can’t get love from someone else or with the accumulation of things. Love must be something that moves outward from us because our main concern is to give it, not get it.

There is no greater secret than the one you articulate here. I was going to say “reveal” here, but while your words are your revelation of the secret, love will remain a secret unless and until it is revealed individually. What you describe is the Kingdom of heaven which is at hand, and yet its “at-handedness” has not solved the world’s problem.

We may begin with responsive love, acknowledging the perfection and the almighty power of love present with us, yielding to that. Being drawn into union with the love that centers our being we find that its radiant aspect flows boundlessly through us, seeking the available contact points in the world round about. Here is love revealed in blessing and transformation!

In considering your post my meditations take me to the awareness in how evil will find a wedge to disturt and twist the radiance of love that we are to receive. Many times this evil will find it form in the feeling of rejection. Either we feel rejected or we reject something or someone. The realization I am having is in reality no one or thing is ever rejected in true love. Here I find our hearts can come to rest and open to the source of love we are to recieve and provide for our worlds. This post is life transforming with some thought given to it.
