Every young man should learn to love, respect and embody truth. This love precedes love for family, country, etc., for fidelity to truth establishes the foundation upon which love for all other externalities is built.
The fact that this is not taught to young men is the great jeremiad of our present state. Our educational system focuses instead on pasting on facts and figures, developing problem-solving abilities and shaping them to be productive members of the workforce. It does a fine job at that, but sadly, the core skill essential to true manhood – love for the truth – is left to chance.
