Reverent Jocundity by Gregg Hake

I prayed today in early morn’
Thereby the ram did I dehorn
Before it reared its ugly head
And filled my tender heart with dread.

I begged not for strength or patience,
Nor did I implore forbearance.
Content I was and unashamed
To forgive all that I had blamed.

All we need can be found within
The question is not “if” but “when?”
So be thus lightened in your task
You shall receive all that you ask.

Thank you for this refreshing reminder that everything we need to fulfill our purpose is within our reach if we but release our distraction with judgement. It’s been said that the Omnipotent knows our needs before we do. I do believe that’s true, in fact I’ve had the experience. Forgiveness is a beautiful gift, it frees everybody.

A cleansing breath through the confusion of what most think of as prayer!
